![]() They have a move called "rend the marked" or someting along those lines. Originally posted by VENOM:Marks significantly increase the crit chance for grapplers. Just by removing the mark in and off itself, you cut the dmg of the grapplers nearly in half. Yeah being marked and being debuffed are two seperate things, still, for successful dodge tanking you need the mark removed, preferably along with the debuff, which is most important when encountering the grappler/artillery combo. Spiders are not weald exclusive, as such I have not taken them into account, as far particular issues with the weald are concerned. That move has a noticeably higher crit, along with higher base dmg, in comparison to their standard attacks. Marks significantly increase the crit chance for grapplers. Just saying this in case someone got confused by the way you built your sentence. Spitters have a huge base crit chance while using their Vs marks attacks, while Webbers actualy have less crit chance while using their Vs marks attacks).Īlso, while most Weald marking enemies also have a Dodge debuff on their marking abilities, it's worth noting that the 2 of them are completely separate, and that being marked doesn't mean having less Dodge. (and that's also why most people prioritize killing the Spitters over the Webbers. You might be thinking that because of the spiders, but they just have a huge crit chance from the beginning, and a huge bonus damage against marked targets. When dealing with the Swinetaur, it is wise to clear all other enemies first, as this will force him to stay in the first rank where he can't use his strongest abilities.Originally posted by VENOM:The weald is so crit-heavy because of marks on heroes (Fungal artillery+ Grapplers i.e.), which also reduce dodge chances. Stress damage enemies such as the wretch and drummer should be dealt with swiftly as well. In order to avoid Disease, it is typically best to kill smaller enemies quickly, as they are more likely to spread illness. Since there are numerous ways to become Diseased here, a Plague Doctor or Grave Robber is also handy for removing any diseases during an expedition. ![]() The Jester can also be counted on for inflicting bleed to multiple enemies, if he's not busy buffing and relieving Stress. The Hellion and Flagellant are also frontliners of choice due to their bleeding attacks. Both these heroes are also capable of inflicting bleed across the enemy party, and can benefit off each other's marking abilities. Great hero choices in this area include the Bounty Hunter and Houndmaster for their damage bonuses against the numerous Human and Beast type enemies. It's also worth noting that due to the type of map layouts common here, scouting is more useful here than in other location (3x4 quadrilaterals can be almost fully scouted on first room entrance). The most commonly encountered enemy type is Beast, with many of the enemies having a secondary Human typing. In terms of their defenses, enemies here tend to be highly resistant to blight, but still vulnerable to bleed. Heroes proficient in scouting and resistant to disease can be invaluable for reasons noted below. Any hero capable of stress relief is recommended as the Warrens have more dedicated stress-damage enemies than any other location. Food is not as important here since multiple curios grant food here, especially with Medicinal Herbs.īleed attacks are extremely useful, blight less so due to high resistances.Even without good scouting, you can almost always just go around the obstacle (ie, take a different path to get to the subsequent room). Usually, just 1 will suffice if you have good scouting, allowing you to avoid paths that have obstacles (since it's a grid layout). Skeleton Key is occasionally needed for locked chests. They can, however, be used to purge a negative quirk with a Pile of Scrolls. Torches are not necessary to stockpile in large quantities, due to short corridors.Holy Water is occasionally useful for Eldritch Altars and Pile of Bones. They can also be used to loot the Rack of Blades curios. Bandages are very useful due to prevalence of Bleed traps and attacks.Unusual debuffs (such as those that halve received healing) can also be cleared with herbs. Medicinal herbs are extremely useful, as they can be used for three curios (Dinner Cart, Makeshift Table, and Moonshine Barrel).Antivenom is essential for encounters with carrion eaters and spiders that are abundant here. The combat music that plays within the Warrens are Battle in the Warrens and Return to the Warrens.īecause the Swinefolk are all hybrid Human/Beast monsters, the Bounty Hunter and Hound Master are helpful here, as well as trinkets that deal extra damage to Human and Beast foes.
